Bowl Game – Level 4

The Bowl games teach your dog 4 levels of disengagement through the 4 levels of the games. The first level taught your dog to not engage with the distraction (i.e., the bowl with food) and to wait for permission.

Level 2 of the bowl game taught your dog to not engage with the distraction and to listen to us (i.e., do a behaviour on cue) before being granted permission.

Level 3 of the bowl game taught your dog to disengage from the distraction by turning away or MOVING AWAY from it.

Level 4 of the bowl game, also known as the bubbly bowl, teaches your dog all of the skills in Levels 1 and 2 when  the food is moving around in the bowl, which can increase your dog’s arousal.  Remember as with all the levels, work with the dog in front of you – so if your dog is noise sensitive, you may want to use a plastic/glass bowl and soft food to reduce the noise created or not play this level until you build up your dog’s resilience to noise.

Once your dog has learned all the levels, mix them up and always keep it fun!
