Passive Range of Motion

Reduced range of motion in limbs can result from aging or during injury recovery. Reduced mobility caused decreased blood flow and flexibility of joints whcih may become stiff. Passive range of motion (PROM) exercises help maintian and build joint flexibility, increase blood flow, warms joint fluid and alleviates stiffness.

PROM exercises require no effort by your dog – you manually move their joints through their full range of motion, starting conservatively then slowly increasing.

Target: Hind limbs, fore limbs, back and hips
Repeat: 2-3 times daily
Time: 1-2 minutes per exercise
