Rainbow Ladder

This exercise is an example of a rhythmic movement exercise which helps to improve our dog’s propioception, coordination, focus and hind-end awareness. Building on the scattered sticks exercise, this exercise adds the challenge of rhythmically moving over the ladder rungs. Ladder work is a foundation tool in dog sports and canine conditioning and rehabilitation.

It is preferable to not use treats to lure your dog through as it may distract their focus, but if needed, be sure to hold the treats low and near the ladder rungs so your dog can see both the treat and the rung. Start all dogs at a low height and then adjust the height appropriately to the size of your dog.
